ELLEN TROXCLAIR ANNOUNCES FOR STATE SENATE
AUSTIN, TX - Today, former City Councilwoman and local conservative business leader, Ellen Troxclair, announced her candidacy for Texas Senate District 24.
“With the Biden Administration doing everything it can to force its radical leftist agenda through executive orders and acts of Congress, Texas needs proven, conservative fighters to hold the line at the state level,” said Troxclair. “It is with this in mind, that today I am excited to announce my candidacy for Texas Senate.”
Previously Troxclair served as the lone conservative on the Austin City Council where she lowered property taxes by passing Austin’s landmark homestead exemption. Additionally, Troxclair fought back against liberal efforts to use taxpayer dollars to fund Planned Parenthood and benefits for illegal immigrants, as well as an initiative to punish business that helped President Trump construct the border wall.
Since leaving office, Troxclair has remained on the frontlines of the conservative movement advocating for lower property taxes and fiscal responsibility as Senior Fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. She also used her platform and experience as the youngest woman to ever serve on the Austin City Council to equip other conservatives with the tools and resources they need to run for office, including through her bestselling book Step Up!, appearances on Fox News, writing for national publications, and speaking throughout the state.
"From the council chambers to legislative hearings, I have fought tirelessly to oppose the leftist agenda and restore transparency and accountability to government," said Troxclair. "As your next state senator, you can trust that I will do everything in my power to ensure Texas remains a great place to do business and raise a family.”
In addition to her advocacy work, Troxclair manages a thriving real estate business, where she has been recognized as one of the best in the business by both the Austin Business Journal and Platinum Top 50. Ellen served as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Army Futures Command, where she helped to advise our military leaders tasked with modernizing our battle methods.
She and her husband, Caleb, are the proud parents of three young children. As strong Christians, they are actively involved in their church Life Austin and are devoted to showing their children the importance of giving back through non-profit volunteer work and community involvement.
In her leadership role for the St. David’s Foundation, Ellen has raised life-changing scholarship money for students from Central Texas. She has also served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters Ice Ball, Ballet Austin, and the Wine and Food Foundation of Texas.
Born and raised in Texas, Ellen is committed to maintaining Texas as a beacon of liberty and freedom for many generations to come. To learn more, please visit TroxclairforTexas.com.
